Congratulations on your new Penntek floor coating! With proper care and maintenance, your floor will maintain its stunning appearance and durability for years to come. Here’s everything you need to know to keep it in top condition.
After Installation
Garage Door: Keep your garage door open until the morning following installation to ensure proper ventilation and curing.
Walking: Allow 6-8 hours before walking on the floor, adjusting for temperature and humidity. For best results, wait until the next morning.
Driving: You can drive on the floor 24 hours after installation, but waiting 36-48 hours is recommended, depending on temperature and humidity. Full chemical resistance is achieved after 72 hours. Delaying foot and vehicle traffic allows the coating to fully cure and ensures maximum durability.
Ongoing Maintenance
General Cleaning
Sweep away sand, salt, and debris regularly, then rinse with water. Using a squeegee is ideal for drying the floor and preventing water spots.
For routine cleaning, household cleaners such as Simple Green, Pine-Sol, CLR, or Dawn are excellent choices. Avoid prolonged exposure to bleach, acids, or corrosive materials, as they can erode the coating and compromise its integrity.
Deep Cleaning
For a thorough clean, use Penntek’s LGX-501 floor cleaner, a solvent-based product designed specifically for Penntek coatings.
Mix LGX-501 with warm water at a 20:1 ratio (20 parts water to 1 part cleaner) for optimal results.
Using a stiff brush or broom, scrub the surface with the diluted cleaner and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Scrub again and rinse thoroughly.
Use a squeegee to remove excess water.
